Just A Little Talk With Jesus

For trombone and two tubas

This was a very challenging song for me to arrange. In late summer 2013, my grandmother was put into hospice care, and my dad's siblings got together with her to plan her funeral. She requested that I arrange this song to be played by me, my uncle and cousin, both of whom are also band directors. It was an honor, but hard to decide exactly how to approach the piece.

My grandmother did not live a sad life, despite more than her fair share of hardship, so I decided it was best to keep the song upbeat to reflect her positive outlook and happy nature. We performed it together in her honor on September 14, 2013.
