{"id":198,"date":"2025-03-16T01:59:42","date_gmt":"2025-03-16T01:59:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kayeskinner.com\/food\/really-good-brownies\/"},"modified":"2026-04-04T02:35:56","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T02:35:56","slug":"really-good-brownies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kayeskinner.com\/food\/really-good-brownies\/","title":{"rendered":"Really Good Brownies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>(This recipe has been doubled)<br \/>\n<strong>Brownies<\/strong><br \/>\n2 oz. unsweetened chocolate<br \/>\n6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate<br \/>\n3 sticks butter<br \/>\n4 cups sugar<br \/>\n6 eggs<br \/>\n1 tbsp vanilla<br \/>\n2 cups flour<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caramel (optional)<\/strong><br \/>\n1 cup granulated sugar<br \/>\n6 tbsp butter unsalted, softened, cut into pieces<br \/>\n1\/2 cup heavy whipping cream room temperature<br \/>\n1 tsp sea salt<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nMelt chocolate and butter in saucepan. Remove from heat, then add sugar and stir until well mixed. Add eggs one at a time. Mix in flour and vanilla. Place in greased 10&#215;15 pan. Bake at 350 degrees until barely done, about 45 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For caramel:<\/strong>In a medium saucepan, add the sugar and cook over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes. Use a spatula to stir the sugar every 1 to 1 &#038; 1\/2 minutes, making sure to rotate sugar off the bottom of the pan. Cook until lumps in sugar dissolve and melted sugar turns a dark amber hue.<\/p>\n<p>Remove saucepan from heat and add in chopped butter. Mixture will bubble and boil &#8211; this is okay. Stir sugar and butter until completely melted and combined, about 2-3 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Add cream and salt to saucepan, stir together, then return the saucepan to heat for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.<\/p>\n<p>Allow sauce to cool for at least 15 minutes.
