{"id":419,"date":"2025-03-16T01:59:48","date_gmt":"2025-03-16T01:59:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kayeskinner.com\/food\/avalanche-bars\/"},"modified":"2026-04-04T02:28:44","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T02:28:44","slug":"avalanche-bars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kayeskinner.com\/food\/avalanche-bars\/","title":{"rendered":"Avalanche Bars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>12 oz bag of White Chocolate Chips<br \/>\n1\/4 cup creamy peanut butter<br \/>\n3 cups Rice Krispies, or \u201cPuffed Rice\u201d if you\u2019re buying generic<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups mini marshmallows<br \/>\n1\/4 cup mini chocolate chips + 2 Tbsp for garnish.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nLightly grease a 9\u00d79 pan (or 8\u00d78 if you prefer thicker bars)<\/p>\n<p>In microwave-safe bowl dump in white chips and heat on med power for 1 minute.  Stir and continue in 30 second increments until chips are melted. Combine the peanut butter with the melted chips. Add the krispies. Let cool approx 15 \u2013 20 minutes stirring every 5 minutes or so to help cool.<\/p>\n<p>Add the marshmallows and the mini chocolate chips and stir to combine. Dump mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly, pressing lightly with the back of your spoon, but do not compact too much, otherwise they will get hard.
