{"id":660,"date":"2025-03-16T01:59:55","date_gmt":"2025-03-16T01:59:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kayeskinner.com\/food\/incredulicious-bars\/"},"modified":"2026-04-04T02:26:47","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T02:26:47","slug":"incredulicious-bars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kayeskinner.com\/food\/incredulicious-bars\/","title":{"rendered":"Incredulicious Bars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2 \u00bc  cups all-purpose flour<br \/>\n1 teaspoon baking soda<br \/>\n1 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened<br \/>\n\u00be cup granulated sugar<br \/>\n\u00be cup packed brown sugar<br \/>\n1 teaspoon vanilla extract<br \/>\n2 large eggs<br \/>\n2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) plus 1\/3 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels<br \/>\n\u00bd cup Evaporated Milk<br \/>\n60 whole caramels, Unwrapped<br \/>\n\u00bd cup peanut butter, melted<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nPreheat oven to 375\u00b0 F and grease 9 x 13-inch jelly-roll pan.<\/p>\n<p>Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Spread half of cookie dough into prepared pan and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove pan from oven and set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in a double boiler (or a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of boiling water) melt caramels with \u00bd cup evaporated milk. When melted and combined, add \u00bd cup melted peanut butter and pour over cookie base. Sprinkle chocolate chips as evenly as you can over the caramel.<\/p>\n<p>Turn out remaining cookie dough on work surface. Use your hands to press it into a large square a little smaller than the pan. Use a spatula to remove it from the surface, then set it on top of the caramel and chocolate chips.<\/p>\n<p>Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown and edges are set. Cool in pan on wire rack.
